Now we've signed Alex Song...
|
Pleased we've signed him. So now we have him, Obiang, Kouyate and Noble vying for the 3 berths in the middle.
My main concern at the moment is lack of creative players. If Payet gets injured, it leaves us so short on creating chances. Jarvis is just not going to cut it, Amalfitano has fallen out with Bilic and we've sold our only other player of any real quality in that position - Downing.
It's all very well trying to sign Austin, but if don't have anybody to supply the bulletts for them, we're going to struggle.

Song can create, in fact i didn't realise how much he could/can thought he was superb up until xmas at doing this.
He also allowed Downing and Noble to create far more then too.

They were nowhere near the lowest scorers because they had Austin. Doesn't mean they were creating loads of chances for him. It's not like he needs 5 or 6 opportunities in order to put one away.

QPR were actually no where near the lowest scorers last year. They were just $hit at the back. Don't think Harry's team have ever been short on attacking options.
Anyway, I think we're fine if Payet doesn't get injured. Which knowing our luck, he will.

Not convinced we are trying to sign Austin.....although I'd be happy if we are.
But, let's assume we do sign him - are you really saying that he won't do the business unless he has a ton of highly creative players generating chance after chance for him? It's not like he had that last year when he scored 18 for probably the least creative side in the prem.

Yep , always the same...
If / When PAYET gets injured....
And no, I personally don't think any of those you mentioned are fit to lace Downings boots - At this stage of their careers, development or time in England.

Payet, Lanzini, Zarate, Samuelson, Valencia when fit again. I don't see us struggling to create chances.

Take Nobby all day long.
Just my opinion, but feel we're light in that area.
It's a very important area of the game that will end up hurting us - because no disrespect to those mentioned below, 3 of them are unproven - and Zarate very much blows hot and cold and wouldn't pin my hopes on him.
Whilst the monetary side was beneficial ( and the fact he said he didn't feel wanted and it was his decision to leave) - I think we should've tried harder to keep him
